Expansion of 4K Television At DIRECTV
DirecTV was the first television provider to provide 4K ultra-high definition programming in November 2014. 4K material was first restricted to renting a small library of on-demand movies, which were downloaded to the subscriber’s Genie DVR (some 4K content can also be pre-loaded automatically to the set-top box via the Genie Recommends feature). The 4K service could only be utilised on TVs that were “DirecTV 4K Ready” and supported the RVU protocol; this was restricted to a few Samsung 4K televisions launched in 2014.
DirecTV released 4K Genie Mini set-top boxes in 2015, which can be connected to any HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2-compliant device to provide 4K content.

Is DIRECTV a good choice?
Yes, it is costly, but it has everything you need. We won’t lie: DIRECTV’s second-year pricing hikes are a big letdown. Even while the first year’s price is low, it may quickly become expensive if you add additional receivers and premium channels. However, most consumers will receive what they want through DIRECTV regardless of pricing. DIRECTV offers the majority of your favorite channels for you and your family at every level of service
